the riverside in the morning
It was dawning on me then
that I had better start pretending
We'd been growing without
So you grow a little smaller,
You stopped reading poetry in the winter
Said the unrelenting rhyming
caught webs on the covers
But I left them there just
Saw you growing a little smaller
And all of our friends used to say
That funny little joke on my mental tube
They shift upon their seats
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
We went down the riverside
And I am hoping against hope
